Odd Couture

Do you have what it takes to become the winner of this year’s Odd Couture Show? Will you be able to land on the cover of the prestige fashion magazine DOGUE? 

Don’t talk the talk, but walk the walk! Walking is not your strength? Don't worry! 

Show the jury that you are able to dazzle the audience with your poise and sheer elegance. Haters, move to the side, the new runway darling has arrived!

Controls:

The goal of the game is to reach the end of the runway and strike a pose! Take pictures during your walk to remember your unforgettable performance!

Walking and Posing: Q/E and O/P for the feet, W/S for up and down

Taking Pictures: C (Pictures are saved on your device!)

Entry for the Houdini Game Jam 2022

How did you use Houdini to make your game?

• We used Houdini to create a dog outfit generator tool (used on the statues - unfortunately we ran into problems with transferring the rig and couldn't use it for our playable 'ragdoll' dog). We also made a quick silhouette model for the audience and a generator tool for the runway. 

List everything that was made before the jam. Pre-built, assets, textures, etc

• We used a few premade assets: shaders from Flat Kit, a Low Poly Dog free asset that we smoothed out and created the poodle from in ZBrush, a chair model and a few sound effects.

Which game engine or platform did you use to make your game?

• Unity 3D

Besides Houdini, what other tools did you use to make your game?

• Blender, ZBrush, Storyboarder, Flat kit, Launchpad

• Tip: the ragdoll physics can get funky - waiting or restarting the level can help
